- The Rockies were established as an expansion team in 1993 and played their first season in 1993. They became the third MLB team in Colorado, joining the Denver Bears (minor league) and the Denver Zephyrs (AAA team).
- Coors Field has been the home stadium of the Rockies since their inaugural season. The stadium is known for its high altitude, which leads to unique challenges for pitchers due to the thin air affecting the flight of the baseball.
- The Rockies reached the playoffs for the first time in their history in 1995, just their third season as a franchise. They advanced to the National League Division Series but were eliminated by the Atlanta Braves.
- In 2007, the Rockies had an incredible late-season surge, winning 21 of their final 22 regular-season games to secure a wild card playoff berth. They went on to win their first National League pennant but fell short in the World Series, losing to the Boston Red Sox.
- The Rockies are known for their powerful offense, particularly at home. Coors Field's high altitude and spacious outfield make it favorable for hitters, resulting in high-scoring games and frequent home runs.

- Todd Helton, a longtime Rockies first baseman, is one of the most beloved players in franchise history. He played his entire 17-year career with the Rockies from 1997 to 2013 and holds several franchise records, including most hits, home runs, and RBIs.
- The "Rocktober" phenomenon refers to the Rockies' successful run in the 2007 season, culminating in their first World Series appearance. The team's exciting and improbable journey captivated fans and created a sense of excitement throughout Colorado.
